The Great Yarmouth school, part of the Creative Education Trust, was rated good in all areas by inspectors who found that students are making “…good progress across a range of subjects in both key stages.”  This strong academic progress was also reflected in the school’s last set of GCSE results where pupils achieved:

• better than national average and local authority average for Attainment 8
• better than national average and local authority average for the number of pupils achieving grade C or above in English and mathematics at GCSE
• considerably better than national average and local authority average for number of pupils achieving the English Baccalaureate

Inspectors were particularly impressed with the school’s commitment to developing the leaders of tomorrow by encouraging young people to take an active role in their education and in their communities; “The school provides many opportunities for pupils to take on leadership roles including pupil ambassadors, prefects, librarians and mathematics mentors. [Pupils] take their roles seriously… The learners’ voice group meet regularly to discuss with leaders areas of improvement…. Pupils views are listened to and considered.”

• “Pupils are keen to succeed and show positive attitudes towards learning.”
• “Reading is a real strength of the school.”
• “The curriculum provides well for the pupils’ spiritual, moral and cultural development.”
• “Pupils leave the school well prepared for further education, training or employment.”
• Lynn Grove is an inclusive school with strong support for pupils with special needs that is leading to “rapid progress”
