Leading teachers gather at Weavers
The Creative Education Trust’s first annual conference of its participants in the Department for Education-sponsored flagship programme for middle leaders gathered at Weavers Academy in Wellingborough in what is believed to be the first such gathering within a multi-academy Trust.
Chaired by Richard Kimbell, Emeritus Professor of Design Education at Goldsmiths University and member of the CET Education Advisory Board, eleven of the Trust’s outstanding teachers, all Fellows of the Teaching Leaders programme, came together to share their ‘Impact initiative projects’ and to pool ideas. Aimee Williams, Fellow of the 2013-15 cohort and the Pearson national award prizewinner for impact, shared her work with the group and offered advice to participants. James Ogden, Teaching Leaders’ Senior Manager for the Midlands said “It has been a fantastic day for us all and serves as a blueprint for how multi-academy Trusts can work with us to develop the impact of its middle leaders”.
